STEPS TO BECOME A FULLERTON COLLEGE STUDENT

Follow all the steps below to become fully enrolled as a Fullerton College student.

STEP 1: APPLY TO FULLERTON COLLEGE

The Fullerton College application is online and free! Apply to Fullerton College to receive your Fullerton College Banner ID and gain access to MyGateway.

STEP 2: COMPLETE THE FULLERTON COLLEGE ONLINE ORIENTATION

 Learn valuable things about Fullerton College, it’s programs and services, and how to receive assistance with your educational planning.

The orientation can be accessed by logging into MyGateway using your new Banner ID, click the “Fullerton” tab, click “New and Returning Students”, and then click “Fullerton College Orientation”.

Please note that you must pass the online orientation quiz at the end before meeting with a counselor.

STEP 3: MEET WITH A FULLERTON COLLEGE COUNSELOR

Meeting with a Fullerton College counselor helps you create a Student Education Program Plan (SEPP) that outlines which classes align with your goals and ensures you enroll in the required courses. Meeting with a counselor also helps determine appropriate class placement as a Fullerton College student. 

Schedule a counseling appointment* below:

* These appointments are only for new, first-time college students.

* Students who took COUN 100/140 should have already completed this step!

After meeting with a Fullerton College Counselor, use your SEPP to register for classes.

 

STEP 4: COMPLETE A FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION

Apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) OR the California Dream Act Application (CADAA), whichever is applicable to the student. Students must complete only one application, not both.

* In order to qualify for the North Orange Promise, students must have a complete 2026-2027 financial aid application (FAFSA or CA Dream Act) on file with Fullerton College. This includes any verification documents requested by the Fullerton College Financial Aid Office.

After submitting a Financial Aid Application, the Financial Aid office may request additional information. Log in to the financial aid verification page linked below in order to complete further requirements after submitting a financial aid application.

STEP 5: REGISTER FOR FULLERTON COLLEGE CLASSES

START is a ONE day event where you will meet FC staff, register for Fall 2026 classes, learn about different student services programs, and much more!

Register for 12* Units or More

Students are required to have full-time enrollment (12* or more units) during the Fall/Spring semester to qualify for the North Orange Promise.

* If receiving Disability Support Services (DSS), you may be able to enroll in less than 12 units as determined by a DSS counselor.

Career Education (CE) students who do not start the semester with all 12 units, but accumulate 12 or more units throughout the semester are eligible.
